BTW, does anyone have a reputable source for the date of (1) LAFCA awards, and (2) BFCA nominations? I had seen Sunday Dec 9 for LAFCA and Tuesday Dec 11 for BFCA, but Sasha and the AD frontpage has Dec 7 for LAFCA and Monday Dec 10 for BFCA noms

Dec 11 is correct for BFCA noms (per their official site)

Okay, thanks, guys. Sasha needs to check her dates right quick.

Also, erik this podcast is hilarious. I'm at the bit about threesomes with Jen Lawrence & Judi Dench..........

Just a little tidbit about our Aussie Oscars here - the AACTA noms were announced today. The Sapphires got the most noms with 12, The Burning Man got 10 and Lore (which you would have thought would have gone a bit higher) tied with Mental and Wish You Were Here with 8 noms.

I nearly peed when Craig said he felt like people were forcing his head down with the Jennifer Lawrence love.

We can still look forward to Jean Dujardin trying to say Quvezhane Wallis on Oscar night.

The Jlaw bashing in that podcast was gross. Craig needs to learn how to deal.

    Overall great podcast Erik.

She's not charismatic enough. And Meryl has always got rave reviews on stage. Chastain barely got passable.

Altough she's still very promising of course.

Americans are just desperate to have a younger female "super thesp" that they can call the "best" like Meryl again. That's why their is a desperation to declare her the "next Streep', even though as you said, her most recent stage acting reviews were atrocious (to be on Streep's level, you need to be great at stage, not barely competent. Even Julianne Moore, probably the last American to be hyped as the "next Streep", got mostly crummy reviews when she did broadway in The Vertical Hour a few years back)

The real deals are the Australians. Cate Blanchett is a monster on stage and screen. And Nicole Kidman conquered London and Broadway with rave reviews and awards when she did The Blue Room a decade ago.
