I agree 100% with your lineup and alternate and yet...I can't picture this being our final lineup. Maybe if we learn they're doing that 85th annual Oscar reunion thing they used to do in the past...in an attempt to bring back old vets/Oscar winners. Otherwise, it seems too "familiar" and not enough fresh faces. But like your rankings, I wouldn't know who to drop or who to add at this point. Part of me says maybe Amanda Seyfried happens but that would be 3 acting nods for "Les Mis" which is too much....or Seyfried replaces Barks, which doesn't change the scope of the race, because it would still be one first-timer, just a different first-timer lol. Ahh this category.

    I know that!

But was there a screening on that day? I fail to see how saying "I saw it last Wednesday" can be proof of anything.

Since Field is most definitely happening, I guess I'll make new predictions

    1. Hathaway (She did absolutely nothing for me in trailer 2, but w/e..)
    2. Field
    3. Hunt
    4. Adams
    5. Barks
    ---
    6. Ehle
    7. McDormand (UGH... I think she can happen!!! But where?)
    8. Washington
    9. Seyfried (Everyone who knows stuff about Les Mis here says she can't happen)
    10. Smith
    11. Collins
    12. Dench

She could certainly happen, if the film is a giant hit and the field thins itself out, but she won't happen over Hathaway or Barks. It's a somewhat thankless role, but she's a rising star and she looks great in the trailer, so she could get drug in if the field is deemed weak.

With Maggie Smith at #06. There has to be at least one newbie, and that would be Barks.

Something tells me this obviously too obvious set is due for a shake-up. I just hope it's in the form of a surprising great performance from Washington or Ehle not all the major awards going for something boring as fuck (it's probably a good thing I can't come up with an example).

The man who leaves and the man who comes back are not the same.
