Great numbers for Anna Karenina! I think it might hit 15 mil.

It's great to see Argo his the 100 Million mark. I know many here aren't too hot on the movie but I feel like I need to support these kinds of movies or else they will become part of the endangered species list.
I support it because I did enjoy it. Nothing more than a popcorn thriller, but a decent one at that.
I do like that Affleck is making box-office hits, and now a $100 million domestic grosser, that doesn't involve blockbuster adaptations of comic books or whatever.

Xmas tracking is out, and it's looking vaguely good for both Les Miz and Django (And notsomuch for Jack Reacher):
Universal Pictures' "Les Miserables," based on the Broadway musical, and The Weinstein Co.'s slave revenge story "Django," directed by Quentin Tarantino, both open Dec. 25 and are on track for strong openings, according to several people who have seen the tracking but were not authorized to discuss the information publicly.
[...]
Opinions are divided as to whether "Les Mis" or "Django" looks stronger. While more people are aware of the musical starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway, more people are "definitely interested" in seeing "Django," which stars Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Unsurprisingly, "Django" is tracking better with men, while "Les Mis" is stronger with women. What is surprising, however, is that among women over 25, the same percentage are interested in both films.
Awareness of "Jack Reacher" is very close to that of "Django" and lower than "Les Mis." However, the percentage of people who want to see Cruise's take on the series of books about an ex-military investigator is lower than for either of the two Christmas releases. Interest in "Reacher" is higher for men but particularly soft among women under 25.

Also, despite being three weeks away Les Miz is already in the Top 3 at Fandango. Impressive!

I just don't see Jack Reacher appealing to many people. It looks muddled and cliche and, even with strong reviews, I think it will get largely lost in the holiday shuffle.
It's not going to help that so many of the awards season, Oscar darlings are poised to be crowd favorites, too.

Ok, so why is End of Watch getting rereleased wide, but Silver Linings Playbook and Anna Karenina are still nowhere near my neck of the woods? Silver Linings especially seems to be stalling when it should have momentum. I guess they're waiting for Globes and SAG, but even so then it'll have to go up against all of the other Hollywood fare when it could have had a week to itself. Frustrating as I and I'm sure a lot of others in the flyover states would like to see it.
from what I heard and read, Anna should be in full on release in the next couple of weeks. Its only in 388 theaters and doing impressive numbers still holding on to position 12. SLPB is doing ok as well, but nobody seems that interested in it anymore. Its PTA is lower than AK's.Silver Linings Playbook and Anna Karenina are still nowhere near my neck of the woods? AK doesn't have much more potential, it's not the kind of movie that's going to hold up in 1,000+ theaters, so they might go to 600-800 and call it a day, especially with the deluge of real Oscar contenders coming about. The Weinsteins seem to be holding SLP back until the beginning of the new year, so that they don't get shoved out of theaters by the new Xmas releases and can take full advantage of the likely Globe wins and Oscar nods. End of Watch just seems to be taking advantage of a very slow weekend, and probably hoping for some precursor support.

Wonder if it has a chance at winning the weekend given it's adding a few hundred more theaters and it's gonna be a slow weekend.
Fox Searchlight kept The Descendants in about 500-600 theaters throughout the end of November until the middle of January, then took it to 2000+ the Friday after Oscar nominations. It payed off in the long run with a gross of $80m+. It seems that is what Weinstein is trying with Silver Linings.
Playing for Keeps is at 0% at RT with 32 reviews thus far.
I know this sounds shocking, but it's an all-time low - even for Jessica Biel.
