It's made $42.5 million so far in Spain. Woah.
Avatar would have something to say about that.

Skyfall had the biggest opening weekend of all time here in Slovenia

I'm reaaaally excited to see how it does in the US. What do you all think will be its final worldwide gross?
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

If it continues to have amazing legs, and breaks out in the U.S. ($200+ million), $900 million is very possible, with $1 billion a very slight possibility (But it would probably need like $250+ million in the U.S. for that).

Biggest local hit ever. Right now, 3rd biggest box-office of all time. Itīs having great legs and Itīll pass Titanic soon... avatar is, no pun intended, impossible to overcome. It did $109 million.

Skyfall also broke Box-office records here in Finland. (Well, all over Scandinavia, actually.)

Eh, Avatar's total gross is inflated by the 3D extra charge. I wouldn't be surprised if Impossible surpassed it in # of tickets sold, although its timing, with the crisis and the VAT increase, is certainly nt the best to do it. I'd like to see a comparison of the tickets sold between Titanic and Avatar, and The Impossible. I bet Titanic is still lightyears ahead (no piracy and downloading back then!).

Yeah, Avatar's gross is inflated, but it's still so far ahead I doubt The Impossible is close in terms of tickets.

It should barely beat the number of tickets sold by The others, 6 million (Right now is at 4,6 million, still going strong though). Avatar sold 9 million tickets. Seems very, very unlikely.

Titanic, by the way, sold almost 11 million tickets. That before the re-release, I think.

Edit: Sorry, didnīt see someone else had already clrifies this.

Yep, it seems unlikely. But, unlike The Others, The Impossible might get Oscar love, and I'm sure that would sell even more tickets (whether in a re-release or because it will still be in theatres by January, I don't know).

Maybe. Itīd need to be something spectacular, like 5-7 nominations, though. And thatīs quite unlikely in itself. Very difficult, at least.

Looks like Skyfall will make Craig the 2nd Bond actors to be in multiple acclaimed chapters. I plan to continue not watching any Bond film regardless.

Almost every action film I've ever seen ranged from kinda boring to really boring; it's just really not my genre. I'm also generally wary of franchises. And nothing about the trailers or reviews make me think that I would like Skyfall any more than I've liked most action films. Oh, and I have seen parts of Bond films but got too bored to keep watching, including Casino Royale.

Okay, I did like Looper this year, but that was more sci-fi than action, and the concept really intrigued me, and it had JGL. And Emily Blunt.
