    Who is voting for Season 1?! I miss Ned, sure, but Season 1 spends half its time with relatively dull world-building. It's only in its second half that it takes off, and even then, season 2 is much better. The narrative flows better, the characters are more lively, and you have the freaking Battle of the Blackwater, which I think is the most impressively cinematic episode of TV I've ever seen.

    I'd put the "Exodus" episodes in Battlestar Galactica and episode 8 of Season 2 of Twin Peaks (and the pilot, for that matter) above Game of Thrones as the most cinematic TV episodes I've seen but I agree with the rest of your post.

    Season 2 of Game of Thrones far surpasses Season 1.

    I have to disagree with you.

    Aside from episode 9 (Blackwater), none of season 2 reached the height of the entire second half of season 1, which got better and better each episode. Also they neglected Deanerys this Season.

    The absence of Dany? She was too overused for the plot she had. It completely stalled out halfway through the season.

    Her plot in season 2 was totally blah, yes, I'm not saying she was underused considering the plot, I'm just saying I was sad she didn't have as much good stuff going on in season 2 as she did in season 1 cuz in season 1 she was HBIC and amazing

    The first half of Season 2 completely surpasses the first half of Season 1, no question. The second half of both, is somewhat equal, with "Baelor" and "Blackwater" being absolutely tremendous in completely different ways. Season finale-wise, I actually miiight prefer the 1st.

    Clearly, the winner will always be any season with Tywin/Arya scenes!

    Season 1 is not rushed and is exactly like the first book, but I understand why most prefer Season 2.
