    Well its my opinion....

Im sure its partly because i went in there expecting too much but I left thinking "thats what all the fuss is about?".....However there is a lot in it to love, it was beautifully shot, by far the best looking bond...I liked the fact they took risks, i didnt expect certain people to die so soon etc.

But for me it was no better than other blockbusters this year, for example The Avengers I felt was a much better film....Its all feeling a bit like when the lastest Mission Impossible came out and everyone was "oh its the best yet, as good as the first" again I just didnt get the praise.

Maybe I missing something, I was a fan of the old school connery bond when I was child, adored Dr No and Goldfinger....However minus CR, im just not feeling these newer ones.

guess its a case of different strokes for different folks

For what it's worth, Roger Moore been on TV lately hawking a new book and he thought SKYFALL was the best Bond movie ever.

I thought it was great, and the best thing about it is that it keeps its momentum going forward. Most movies blow their wad early, but this got better and better as it went along. Bardem was riot, and my crowd loved him. Same for the Aston reveal. Big applause there.

The train, and Scotland stuffwere the big highlights for me.

I saw this again on Wednesday, and one dude in the back LOUDLY cat-called when Bond was bending over the bar (giving a magnificent view of Craig's ass) and again during the Silva/Bond flirting scene. The entire audience joined in with him; it was an awesome moment.

This was flat-out GREAT. Perfectly paced, well-written by Bond standards, Bardem is just perfect in his role, the cinematography... ugh The old church lit up from the distant burning house? Gorgeous.

I could see Bardem getting nominated for this, in fact i may slip him onto my top 5. He's certainly more memorable than Alan Arkin.

    Loved this.

I liked it and enjoyed it a lot. A solid action movie that do justice to the classic series and put Stevens MI outings to shame. One memorable image after another and couple of brilliant sequences. the murder of the Chinese bigwig by Patrice from the high rise and among glass and lights, Bardem explaining the 'side effects' of eating cyanide, to name a few. . The last big sequence also brought out the mastery of the great Roger Deakins. Well acted by all (even lower tier characters likeof Beatrice Lim is memorable) and the characters were were multi dimensional and greatly realized given the genre. Special kudos to Sam Mendes for this and delivering the main premise of the movie about old vs. new, even how Bardem dies :p

Looks like you messed up with the spoiler tags. Tho not sure it's going to surprise anyone that a Bond villain dies.

Just got finished watching this. I thought it was very enjoyable. Some moments inspired (I like Q and Eve a lot). All the actor's terrific. I guess I kinda expected a little more based on the hype. I have to say I prefer Casino Royale more. I guess it's probably one of the best Bond films, just not sure where I'd rank it.

I liked most of this quite a bit! With the opener in Istanbul, the credits, the training sequence, and the action bits in Shanghai, I was completely riveted and I really thought this was going to be one of my favorite Bond movies ever. But then it kinda stalled out for me when Bardem showed up, and then the movie completely lost me with the Scotland part, which I thought was incredibly boring and confusing. Like, nothing that happened there, let alone the fact that they went there at all, made any sense to me; the cinematography was gorgeous, but the editing kinda fell apart for me there and as a whole it just felt tacked on and lazy and loooong. About five minutes into it I wanted Judi Dench to go ahead and die already.

What I love about Deakins' work is the COLOUR. I'm so exhausted from almost every bland, drab, monotone or blue movie made nowadays. This had every colour and really used colour to give each location its own feel.

Just came back from watching this. I really like this. I know most people think Sean Connery was the best Bond, but to me Daniel Craig is my ultimate Bond. Enough roughness and elegance.

I absolutely enjoyed this movie. V entertaining! It didn't try to be too smart, the pace is perfect. Cast was great. I love Q and Eve. The only "bad" acting I saw was the bar scene between Bond and Sévérine in Shanghai. I thought Marlohe was bleh there. Otherwise, all good. Bardem.... so fucking creepy!

All and all - the theater was full, and people clapped at the end of the movie.

I don't think Marlohe was hired because she's a good actress, lol.

I thought the Turkish girl Bond bangs was the best looking chick in the movie.

    Turkish?

The French woman he meets at the casino is one of the hottest of the entire series.

The first chick he bangs. She's really Greek, but he is in Turkey in the movie.

I personally didn't like the credits that much. I was also already bored by the tepid Adele/Paul Epworth track. I think Casino Royale's credits were a lot better.

Yes, the moor scene was dragging but as I said earlier, thanks to Deakins and the imagery, I didn't mind it much.

I loved the Casino Royale credit sequence because it made Bond into the sex symbol; it was all about him (via the male power fantasy). The Skyfall credits fell back into the tired, old naked-dancing-chick-silhouette routine. Yawn.
