Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood in "Black Swan" would be just plain fantastic. Garland AND Crawford would be a bit too much star-power added, but I'd DEFINITELY want to watch.

Anyway since I hate remakes, I'd go for a gender switch reworking (in the present? golden age of studio era instead of silents? not sure) of "Sunset Boulevard" with Christopher Plummer as Norman Desmond and Natalie Portman as Joan Gillis.

Anthony Hopkins would play the butler Max with a big/secret crush on Norman and the Nancy Olson part can go to Paul Rudd (or whoever, not really important).

Since Gus Van Sant already showed us that we can't recast the original PSYCHO, I'd like to see a remake of PSYCHO 2 with:

    Michael Shannon as Norman Bates

Julianne Moore as the vengeful but doomed Lila Loomis

Emma Watson as the good-hearted but doomed Mary Loomis

Kenneth Branagh as the sympathetic but doomed Dr. Raymond

Dane Cook as the irritating and doomed Mr. Toomey

Recasting a Grant role with anyone but Clooney just seems wrong.

I loved that Grant played a character that was, how shall I say this, a Mama's boy? I liked that such a big movie star was willing to play that part and pulled it off. I suppose Clooney would be willing too considering his filmography.

I love all of this save Carter. Nicole Kidman would be a good match with Mulligan.
