A lot of great notices for Zero Dark Thirty's Score so I'm adding that to my predictions.

I'm predicting as if The Master isn't eligible.

    Anna Karenina
    Beasts of Southern Wild
    Life of Pi
    Lincoln
    Zero Dark Thirty
    Alt: Argo

I don't know about you lot, but I'm starting to guess that (since he has two or three films (if 'Moonrise Kingdom' is elgible) in consideration for Best Original Score) this is probably going to be Alexandre Desplat's year. That or it'll be Oscar no. 6 for the master of scoring himself - Mr. John Williams...

Moonrise Kingdom will probably be ineligible? Same for The Master.

    I agree with the 'consensus'

    1. Lincoln
    2. Life of Pi
    3. Anna Karenina
    4. Beasts of the Southern Wild
    5. Zero Dark Thirty

    6. Argo

    Indeed!
On a side note: i'm quite depressed that Zimmer's chances for Tha Dark Knight Rises seem dead in the water...

Agreed. Of all the scores he's done for the "Dark Knight Trilogy," Zimmer's contributions to "Rises" are, I think, the best yet. He builds up on the previously established themes and brings new material into the fold that feels like his freshest work in a long time.

He has like 6 scores per year but all of 'em are usually overshadowed by other, better ones.

    Since The Master is eligible....

    The Master (50/50)
Life of Pi (safe, and predicted winner)
    Lincoln (safe)
Anna Karenina (Looking good, but I can see it snubbed)
    Zero Dark Thirty (50/50)
    ----
    6. Argo (50/50)
    7. Beasts of the Southern Wild (^Next in line)
    8. Frankenweenie (^)
    9. The Dark Knight Rises (^)
    10. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (^)
    ___
I'm unsure of Desplat getting double nominated. It's a toss up of which film will get in.

Sadly, I currently think Beasts misses out Really hoping Desplat doesn't get in for Argo

    Lincoln
    Life of Pi
    Zero Dark Thirty
    Anna Karenina
    The Master

I think Lincoln is a lock and Life of Pi is pretty safe, the rest could all miss.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

I hadn't considered that. But there's a good possibility. The score is pretty good too.

I also think we shouldn't rule out Snow White and the Huntsman, James Newton Howard has gotten plenty of surprise nominations in this category.

Other than that I think this category is impossible to predict, because some year's its extremely predictable and others you wouldn't have expected any of the nominees.

I know I'll change my mind before the Oscars, but the safe line-up:
    Anna Karenina
    Argo
    Lincoln
    Life of Pi
    Zero Dark Thirty

I mean I could see all of them missing except Lincoln. And I do think Argo is more likely to be here than Zero Dark Thirty.
