They were asked to wear a goddess look for these videos. And yes, Sharon also wore blonde wigs. But, it's more about the way they both sound and have a seemingly similar sense of humor.

Gurl, my opinion of drag queens is impeccable, mmmkay.
I don't know, maybe I'm off base and we'll see once the season starts, but Alaska's drag voice as well as the tone of what she was actually saying in that video just screamed Sharon Needles.
Alaska does throw her voice in a similar way to Sharon's, but what little exposure I have to Alaska (and it is little), I do think they seem to have fairly distinct overall styles. Alaska seems to serve more busted/tranny-mess realness, whereas Sharon obviously channels the goth/comically monstrous.
I definitely think Alaska's intro video is the funniest/best--and actually better than Sharon's from last season, which seemed more forced.
Also excited for Jinkx, Detox, and Penny. And Serena Cha Cha came across as fairly intriguing in her clip, and her background seems like it could make for some pretty interesting drag.
I guess I just love me the more subversive and camp queens. Show girls and fish totally bore me, though there's absolutely a place for those styles.
Juju is probably the one exception to that. I actually can't totally figure Juju's style out. The reason I love her so much is just because I think she's the most effortlessly funny queen they've had. So many queens, even great queens, feel like they're adopting that "queen-y" attitude that everybody loves in their drag performers. Even among the best, you can see them working to be catty, working for those quips. But with Juju it's just effortless. That's her real gift. It doesn't feel like an affectation, which makes it even more enjoyable.
Well, we'll agree to disagree. But just looking at her performances and the one time I saw her live, I think she's different enough and really just batshit fucking insane. And, when it comes right down to it, I'd rather have a Sharon Needles ripoff than another boring, personality-less pageant queen, of which it appears we have three or four of this season.
But, Detox (AMAZING live -- she was better than Willam, who performed later that night) and Jinkx are the other two I'm really looking forward to.
And pretty much yes to everything kupo just said.

Yeah, there seems to be only one really "plus-size" queen this time. Little disappointed in that.
This is worth watching, by the way:
And this, because it's pretty awesome:
ETA: Both are Jinkx Monsoon. That might be important to know, lol.![]()

Will Oscar have Riva Fever?
I already like Detox and Alaska but I think I'm gonna love Jinkx. NGNG, I think the winner will be Serena, because we all know Ru likes a type for a winner each season and she just seems like the most polished latina queen this side of Nina Flowers. She looks to have a pretty distinctive style as well. Penny looks fun, but doesn't look very polished.
This is, like, the most disappointing thing ever. The teams were obviously a budget or timing issue and it is ruining everything. I'm grateful that we have something Ru related to tide us over till Season 5, but really, I can't even be emotionally invested in this at all. That lip sync did nothing for me.
Chad needs to win at this point or else this is pretty pointless.
I hope after a couple more seasons they do a legit All Stars season with the winners/runner ups from past seasons. Can you imagine BeBe, Tyra, Raja, Sharon, Phi Phi, Chad, Raven, Manilla, Latrice, Jujubee, Nina Flowers, and Yara all on the same season? Jeeeeesus.
You forgot Rebecca Glasscock and Alexis Mateo.![]()
I thought I read somewhere that there were issues getting enough queens to commit to a full season, so they did a six episode thing and the teams.
I think the season could have been great, it's really just the team thing that sucks. The nature of a drag queen is to command the attention, not share it with someone else.
I'm watching clips of season five queens to tide me over, instead.![]()

I think the whole quick six episode deal could have worked, too. A shorter season is fine for All Stars. But yeah, the teams thing just really backfired--fans and media outlets all seem disappointed in this season. Which, that at least gives me hope Ru won't ever repeat it. It would have been much better had they just done double eliminations every week (I've a feeling the final four would have been a lot more interesting this way, too).
Yeah, I saw this coming for weeks. I don't mind this win. Chad is the consummate professional and even if her's isn't my favorite type of drag, I can appreciate it and I understand why Ru wanted to award her. Her look tonight was also pretty fantastic. I felt bad for Raven, who was also second in her season and has really improved a lot. As much as I adore Juju, her runway is just not strong enough to get her a win in this kind of competition. Shannel was an embarrassment. 32? Girrrr.
Anyway, I'mg glad this is over and I'm ready for season five.
Yeah. This was whatever.
This episode did further confirm that Shannel is just a big no. Like, HELLLLLL NO.
