I'll chime in on Lange abso-fucking-lutely KILLING it this season. KILLING it. Last night's episode is among the best thing she's done her entire career. I know it's being submitted in Miniseries again but I think actors can submit an episode (or part) so this has to be it. Unless she's got more coming, in that case I don't know if my heart can take this much actressing extravaganza.

Also, it has to be noted that Frances Conroy was stuuuuuuunning. Sickening.

Yeah, Lange is magnficent. I thought she had reached her peak as Sister Jude with that monologue about the squirrel, but last night's episode was even better. It's easily the best performance on TV at the moment.

The episode itself was a little more uneven than the last few weeks, but I'm glad they took a break from the most extreme craziness of the show to give Lange a few quite moments to shine. It was worth it.

Yes! Lange is out of this world. Just staggering work this season.

This was a packed episode. Wow, gruesome, disturbing, breathless. A mindfuck. The scene with Lange and Conroy in the diner was great (the dialog/script as well.)

Lange, LILY RABE, Sarah Paulson and James Cromwell (aswell as Conroy last night) are SO GOOD. The first three are, indeed, killing it.

Lol. There was a shout-out to Filene's Basement too. Unfortunately it just closed it last few stores last year.

Sister Jude welcomes Santa, played by Ian McShane...

A deliciously twisted episode! LOVED Ian - it astounds me how uniformly brilliant the acting on this show is - and how it makes the great first season look downright mediocre by comparison! ha!

Oh Lord Jesus, Anne Hathaway's winning an oscah

Everything that Ian McShane said as santa : http://io9.com/5966268/every-single-...a-in-one-video

He better get guest star emmy for this.

It's a Miniseries/TV Movie so he's not eligible for a Guest Emmy. And since they've merged the Lead and Supporting categories in Mini/TV a nom for him is virtually impossible.

I hate that they've done this because that essentially screws this entire cast outside of Jessica Lange and maybe Sarah Paulson.

Too bad about the elimination of the supporting categories and even if they existed there was the terrible burstyn rule of 5% of total running time of a project and I don't think he would have qualified. McShane was really disturbing and gave a good performance.

Fantastic new interviews with Lange. Some of them are very candid about her process in a way she hasn't been in years. Also, she speaks of Sister Jude's fate, season 3 and of her love for Frances Conroy...

If Sarah Paulson is snubbed for this, I'll die. Such phenomenal work, I can barely stand it.

I seriously enjoyed last season, and the first episode (or two) of this one had me somewhat skeptical. But I am so enthralled with this now in a way few TV shows have ever done for me... And Lange doing such great work is a huge part of that.

American Horror Story: Asylum makes AFI's and the Huffington Post's Best/Top TV of 2012 lists. It's wonderful when things begin to slowly pay off...
