Alright, betches, I'm startin my campaign.

    #Gaga2014

She'd bring the house down, and nary a weave would be found in the rubble. But she'd need to go a route that avoided her joining in the dance routines, cuz, Gags, you ain't out-dancing Madge and Beyonslay--you'll look like a real Michelle up there.

Oh, damn. Even I'm doing it now.

They've played before so it would be Coldplay or something. Gross!

I'm waiting for them to have a rapper perform. Kanye West would definitely put on a good show.

Kanye would be amazing but I don't think that'll ever happen. Or a rapper in general, which is kinda sad.

Thanks for that link, I just saw it.

It was good. The first thought that went through my mind afterward was, "Well, that happened." Then I kind of thought that it must be a good day to be a Beyonce fan, because she did in fact do a good job.

But, as someone who doesn't follow her closely and only has a passing familiarity with her catalog, it was just 'good.' Wouldn't say it was spectacular. The highlight for me was definitely "Crazy In Love," and from there maybe seeing Destiny's Child together again. In the end, I think its pretty much what one would expect from a Beyonce performance: a lot of hair flipping, facial expressions, and belting. Though I agree, the Destiny's Child reunion should have been advertised (or at least not kept so hush-hush) because I'm sure the average viewer probably thought Kelly and Michelle were merely back up singers/dancers.

On that note... while "Crazy In Love" was the highlight for me, I'd say "Single Ladies" was the low point. Which is sad because once it started I got excited for it. I don't mind Kelly and Michelle dancing to it, but I think it should have been just Beyonce on vocals.

So yeah, overall I thought the show was good. It didn't live up to my expectations. But then again, I may have had unrealistically high expectations based on Super Bowl performances of the past from Prince, Madonna, and Michael Jackson. I'd say that Beyonce was definitely better than The Black Eyed Peas, and that maybe her performance is on the level of Janet Jackson or the Aerosmith/Britney/Mary J Blige performance.

This is exactly how Beyonce wanted it.

You can do it, Naomi! You're...
ONLY 10 EASY STEPS AWAY FROM OSCAR!

1.) Bankrupt small, independent distributor via massive Oscar campaign. Failing that, proceed to...
2.) Cash in King Kong residual checks to pay for FYC advertisements from Kinko's.
3.) To avoid getting sent straight to VOD, attach entire film as a "trailer" to another film people actually want to see. And then...
4.) Try to do it Lahti-style and win Academy Award for Best Short Film.
5.) Avoid telling a story that everyone already knows by adding exciting details and/or gratuitous editing.
    6. Carefully and patiently weather the wrath of film critics/the royal family/the tabloids/Diana-maniacs for trying to add said details. (Good luck!)
    7. Find all of the boxes with "August: Osage County" screeners and slip in self-made cam bootleg from premiere screening at Lowes...the hardware store.
(Not Loews, the movie theater -- too expensive!)
    8. Trick octogenarian Oscar voters into thinking that you are, in fact, a real princess. (Hey, it worked on Eva Marie Saint!)
    9. On Oscar night, have camera crews come to Nicole's house, Joan Crawford-style, so you can win and keep your day job.
    10. OSCAR!

Well at least Kelly seemed like she belonged. Poor Michelle was stiff as a board trying to do Single Ladies, while Kelly owned the stage next to Beyonce.

Hmm...the 2 Destiny's Child singles were their 2 more recent of their 4 #1s. Made sense.
Single Ladies, Baby Boy, Crazy in Love, among her 5 #1s, sure.

But instead of Irreplaceable or Check on It, we got Halo (which was popular I guess), Love on Top - which I guess is okay since it was the song she announced her pregnancy with, and...mega-flop End of Time? Okay then. Mostly I wanted Irreplaceable, my favorite Bey song ever.

    She was good.

I'm trying to find which post of Erik's you're referring to? I've looked at the last few pages of this thread and I'm not sure?

Are there any rappers that wouldn't cause a major ruckus over decency?

If they ever do, it'll probably be someone like Eminem. He's popular, and pretty close to being a quaint nostalgia figure now...

Interestingly I was reading a lot of comments on FB where people were even complaining about 'decency' in Beyonce's performance as well.

Generally, "decency" is probably going to be an issue for any performer that came onto the scene after 1980.

That said, I hope they go with another female performer next year. That they went so long with dude-only halftime performances post-Nipplegate was outrageous.

I think I might be going to the show in Philadelphia in August.
