There's certainly a body-image-issue, misogynistic-internet-culture, gender-representation-in-the-media feminist-critique conversation to be had here, but before that we need to cover the more old-school, common sense, being-a-normal-person approach: when women ask you to stop calling other women "fat," it's typically considered in good manners to stfu.
It seems clear that there's a difference between attempting to take back those criticisms that others will lob at you, "Fine. I'm fat. Whatever." and being the person lobbing those judgements.
I mean, do you use the n-word because someone uses it in a self-referential fashion?
I own that that is an extreme example. But it's not that great a leap.
Which is to say nothing of the fact that you aired your dressing down before even being cognizant of Aguilera's acknowledgement (and acceptance) of her body. I don't honestly believe that your argument is, "Oh sure, SHE says she's fat and it's fine. But I call her fat and everyone jumps all over me." Do you really not see the difference?
Now, for the record: she never made those comments about her weight.

Actually, BDP, I had read a similar Xtina quote recently where she referred to herself as fat (something to do with The Voice or whatever show she hosts) but didn't know the story behind her sudden weight gain. So I was very much aware of her ownership of it.
And Erik, clearly I'm not "supportive" or "you go girl" about her weight so not even sure where you're getting that from. Perhaps you missed my inclusion of "disappointment". Was she too skinny before? Not that I noticed (and certainly not compared to other media figures), but obviously she wasn't comfortable or happy with it. But I think she looks more overweight now than she may have been underweight then.

And a fun picture that's been making the rounds from a United Nations ceremony honoring Aguilera's effort to end world hunger.

So Lana's re release charted better than this. Embarrassing.
Um so did Weeknd's trilogy which he already gave away for free.
Her vocals were much nicer today on her show than yesterday at the AMAs, though the latter was a more...memorable performance.

I really love Christina's new album.
The highlight is defiantly Light Up the Sky, I can see this with a good performance on the Voice maybe SNL going number one.
So she genuinely does not give a shit about this album or to be successful ever again? I don't know if she is in denial but she is never happening again.
Leaving The Voice is really such a bad career move for her. It's not like she has something to leave the show for.
