I used to love Dexter and Michael C. Hall like 5 years ago. I really wish the Emmys would just drop him.

But he never won!?!? If Kyra Sledgehammer can snag a late series emmy for her crappy work as The Closer, surely Michael deserves one for his years of great work on Dexter - he should have won when he was winning the awards at the Globes and SAG - leave it to the Emmy to ignore him when it was obviously his year and the other awards bodies knew it.
Amusingly, Hall would actually be worthy of a nomination again this year, for the first time in probably three or four years.

Michael C. Hall beating the combined work of Hamm, Olyphant, and Cranston (and likely Lewis when I get around to season 2 of Homeland) would likely make me blow a gasket, even if his work is better than it has been for a few years.
Yes, Hall has been pretty good this season, but for me the revelation was Jennifer Carpenter. I would love to see her nominated at least once. Not going to happen, but a boy can dream.![]()
Jali Awards Best Actress 1920-1925
1920 Tora Teje, Erotikon // 1921 Pola Negri, The wildcat
1922 Anna May Wong, The toll of the sea // 1923 Marion Davies, Little old New York
1924 Marie Prevost, The marriage circle // 1925 Gloria Swanson, Stage struck
I'm curious to see who will win in the battle-for-their-4th-Comedy-Series-win - 30 Rock or Modern Family. 30 Rock has gotten some pretty great publicity for its final season, though the show actually hasn't won a single Emmy since its third season. Modern Family has been going so strong Emmy-wise, though it was also in the 4th season that 30 Rock lost its luster. And TBBT continues to grow in stature and might wrap up the season as the biggest non-sports program on TV (Depending on how far AI falls), so that could be a wildcard still.
At the very least I think Baldwin and/or Fey will be winning Actor/Actress - any episode from the last half of the season would be a great tape for either of them, honestly.

In my personal Emmy wins I don't know if I ever give the win to Hall for any of the good seasons of Dexter. 2007 is all about Kyle Chandler. 2008 maybe I would give it to him but it's tough against Hall and Cranston. 2009 is easily Michael Chiklis, 2010 Cranston, and after Season 4 I don't even nominate him anyway.
Oh, ok - I didn't realize this. But when it comes to Emmys, I don't really think anyone needs to win over and over again, so I don't have a problem with a worthy first-time Emmy winner beating someone who has already won once or twice, generally. In the pantheon of how Emmys are looked at after all, most do not remember what season of a show you win for, all they really remember is that you're an Emmy winner for it and that's enough to cement you. That's why it really is so unnecessary to reward actors over and over again, in terms of their career, once they've already won one. Winning one already seals you in. So I don't have a problem with Hall winning over a Cranston who's won multiple times.
I've never had any allusions that Emmys is really about honoring who actually was the best of the year anyway, so I never get roped into the emotion of, 'Well, so and so gave my choice for best of the year - they should win!' Cranston might be the best every single year but I don't want anyone to win every single time out just because they might be the best.
T10 Desired Wins:
10. Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother - though I suppose there's another chance after this season.
9. Sofia Vergara, Modern Family - Bowen does not deserve 2 more than her.
8. Mad Men, Writing - Another chance next season to be only runner-up for most wins.
7. Tina Fey, Actress (or Writing) for 30 Rock
6. Jane Campion, Directing for Top of the Lake
5. Matthew Weiner, Directing for Mad Men - Show still hasn't won this category. However, there's another season left. Unlike...
4. Beth McCarthy-Miller, Directing for 30 Rock - 7 losses for her at the Emmys. This season she did both the finale and Mazel Tov, and she did my #1 episode of the series Reunion. And 30 Rock still hasn't won this category.
3. 30 Rock, Comedy Series - One of the T4 winners, yo.
2. Mad Men, Drama Series - First 5x winner.
1. Elisabeth Moss, Actress for Mad Men or Top of the Lake - C'mon, Emmys, let this be her year.
Ang Lee - The only 2x Bafta/DGA/Oscar-Winning Director!
Meryl on Oscars: Y’see these little babies? These are my best f***ing friends
and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.
Since all the great recurring charecters on shows never seem to get nominated in Guest Actor I will be rooting for Emmy to top it's shamelessness and nominate Michelle Williams for her 10 second cameo on Cougartown. You just know they want to.
Drama:
1. Homeland
2. Breaking Bad
3. Mad Men
4. Downton Abbey
5. Boardwalk Empire
6. Game Of Thrones
7. Justified
8. The Good Wife
9. Dexter
10. The Americans
11. House Of Cards
12. Parenthood
Wild card: The Newsroom. It's either being nominated for everything or nothing. I'm leaning toward the latter, obviously, but would not be surprised by the former.
Comedy:
1. Modern Family
2. 30 Rock
3. Girls
4. The Big Bang Theory
5. Louie
6. Arrested Development (I'm still really doubtful that the TV Academy will want to recognize stuff produced for streaming services, roughly analogous to back when cable was first breaking through; I'm also doubtful it will be any good.)
7. New Girl
8. Nurse Jackie
9. Family Tree
10. Glee?
11. Parks & Rec?
12. The Middle?
(I honestly think only those first seven have any real shot.)
Wild card: Enlightened. This feels like The Wire, in that it will be discovered five years from now and hailed as one of the best shows ever made. The Emmys ignored The Wire, but, hey, maybe they'll be more with it now.

Is Parade's End eligible? I've only see one episode so far and I wasn't that impressed, but holy shit, Rebecca Hall was amazing.![]()
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
Wouldn't first series of Parade's End air in Mini-Series? Assuming PBS packaged it the same way they did with DA's first series.

Parade's End is airing on HBO, and it's being positioned as a miniseries.
