There were lesbians in the last episode -- the two women Adam and Kristina were going to buy the dog from.
Erik, is there anyone on the show you like?

LOL, they were pretty hilarious lesbians.
jb, I realize I just bitched about like, everyone but I like most of the cast/characters. Most especially Erika Christensen, I think she's amazing and every storyline they've given her (and Sam Jaeger) has been very good and believable. They need some happy in their lives though, everything has been so sad for them.
I like of the kids (except Max), I like Peter Krause, Craig T. Nelson is eh, ok.
LOL, Erika Christensen was actually the first character on the show I hated? I mean, in season one alone betch set her sister up on a date with Mike O'Malley, who she promised was "still gorgeous" like he was in high school or whatever. Then she started pestering her about when she's going to start interviewing for a job. Oh, and she almost let her daughter drown in the pool.
Anyway, I've warmed to her since then but yeah.
Also, I thought Adam and Kristina comparing their daughter to a dog was funny. They were clearly being snide, but I could absolutely see my parents comparing me to some sort of animal.

Yay, another FNL alum!
So the preview for the next episode showed .
Yeah I saw that preview too.
Uh oh.

This is my favorite show on television.
Kristina was a character I hated until this season, and Monica Potter deserves an Emmy.
Mae Whitman has also been amazing.
We need more Drew, Miles Heizer has been the stand-out in seasons past for me.
What's the appeal of this show? I've never seen it, but Metacritic has it as one of the T10 shows on critics' annual T10 lists (when last year only 2 lists had it) and for now the top network drama, overtaking Good Wife.
I've never really thought about it because it doesn't have the instantaneous sexy appeal of many of the most-acclaimed dramas: 60s proto-feminism wrapped around a beautiful enigma, teacher turned drug lord, young Count of Monte Cristo-esque woman destroys the lives of the rich and powerful after they destroyed her life, zombie invasion, mentally ill but brilliant CIA agent goes to underhanded measures to figure out if a POW has been turned to the other side, etc. Like, it's about...a normal family just living their lives? I can't recall the last "family drama" I was really into.
Is there an especially good episode that would serve as a good gauge of whether or not I would enjoy this show?
ETA: I saw the last episode, with the Christmas. I liked Amber and Kristina, but the show seems full of emotional manipulation, some cheesiness, and a bunch of self-destructive and/or boring characters. At least I tried it.

Ang Lee - The only 2x Bafta/DGA/Oscar-Winning Director!
Meryl on Oscars: Y’see these little babies? These are my best f***ing friends
and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.
The Christmas episode was cheesy, but it was a christmas episode.
I'd actually say the episode before it was one of the most powerful.
This season has been the best so that's probably why it's overtaking other stuff.
Yeah, never judge a show by its Christmas episode.
I'd watch from the beginning of the "cancer" arc because I think this show has handled the whole thing really honestly. Refreshing. The episode where they had to choose the doctor in particular.
