We'll have to agree to disagree. I think that people jump on this "useless subplot!" bandwagon way too fast lately because of some strange PTSD from shows past. It's like they're making it harder for themselves to just sit back and enjoy the show and let it come together naturally.
After last week's "uneventful" episode i think they are back with a great episode. That ending was really classy Homeland. Morgan Saylor is totally getting an Emmy nomination, this is her tape.
Morgan Saylor? Really?![]()
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
So Abu Nazir, the CIA's most wanted terrorist, is in the United States?
I think there have been enough big intelligence gaffes in the recent past for that not to strain credibility too much. But yeah, that is a bit of an odd choice.
Great. Now who's going to watch Sunday Rose on SAG night??
Maybe they're in Guatemala ?
I guess, but I assume they didn't fly a helicopter to Guatemala.
Saul and Quinn cracked me up in the scene where they were listening in on Brody and Carrie's sex-romp. It brought some humour to an intense episode.
"It's better to over analyse than not analyse at all." NM. 2000.
Wherever it was, it looked like it was still dark.
Oh and sort of related, has anyone seen the Israeli show this is based on, Prisoners of War? The two can not be anymore different in terms of style and execution. Both Prisoners of War and Homeland excel tremendously in the acting department. Season 2 is already showing in Israel and judging from the trailer it looks more action packed compared to the first season.
Lawl. She really is the Sally Draper of Homeland.Originally Posted by jjj;1490053[B

I'm sort of amused the show is getting hit on plausibility this season, because the whole premise underlying the series is filled with ridiculous implausibilities. It's well-acted and takes its characters seriously, which earns it the benefit of the doubt most times. But it's also always been a highly implausible thriller.

Assuming that they haven't flown into some other country (highly unlikely), what would be the purpose of the helicopter anyway. They are already in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, there must be some empty barn around there where Nazir can ominously show up.
This show is a lot of fun to watch, but at times it's just very stupid.
"She's turning this around!" may have been one of the most uncomfortably funny moments ever.
The implausibility doesn't ruin the show for me, but it does distract me every so often. And I do feel like it has been worse this season, in that regard. Maybe I am mis-remembering season 1, but I don't recall getting a "24" vibe from any episodes last season, and that has been more of a problem this season.
I love how you compared Dana's storyline to Margaret. Eerily similar.
