Danes and Lewis were absolutely stunning in last night's episode. OMG! The interrogation scene.... Goose bumps just watching it. Danes as Carrie in that scene was both manipulative and touching at the same time. From the moment she said "you broke my heart you know!" to the "I wish you'd left your wife and kids to be with me" to the "It's the lies that undo us"....![]()
OMG... This show...
I hate that I had to catch up cause waiting for weekly episodes is gonna be so hard.
last episode was pretty slow paced but they made me involved in the story again in the last 10 minutes. It was kind of a transition to a bigger climax.

Why do you even watch? I feel like you gripe more than anything else in this thread.

Excerpt from this person's blog entry: Liz shot back a brilliant, airtight defense: “I’m no bailer! I’m still watching Smash!”...Despite its beyond annoying characters...despite its endless repetition...despite its unbelievable plot twists...Partly, this was out of sheer shock; I adored the Smash pilot, thought it was the best one of last year’s crop and championed it to everyone I knew. I kept hoping against hope that Smash would live up to that initial promise. Like a woman who keeps seeing a guy because their first date was so great, even though he’s never been that charming or interesting again...but I kept desperately hoping it would get better. And in case it did—I wasn’t going to bail and miss it.
Though for me it was more the show up through the amazing The Weekend, weeks during which I brought up the show with many talking about how great it was for a strong, complex female character lead an exciting, morally ambiguous, tensely puzzling show.
Now...Danes is still really great. And the visuals can be breathtaking. If I stuck around for Gossip Girl for 3 full years despite its increasing stupidity, I feel like I should at least give this show a chance to recover. And I occasionally popped in for Gossip Girl after that, eventually being rewarded with the very well-acted and realistically written Dan/Blair storyline.

It just seems you have this idea of what the show should be and of course it will never be what you want and we get posts like the above.
Having no idea what can happen in any episode makes this one of the most thrilling TV experiences I've ever had. Chill dude. And you just did not mention Smash and Gossip Girl in the same sentence as Homeland, right?
This episode was kinda messy and scattered, but it was worth it all for a handful of great scenes. Here's hoping next week is better.
HS
The hospital scene was depressing
Not the best episode of the season so far (after 5 unbelievably strong ones), but I was still shocked about THAT scene
My only problem is that Brody seems way too predictable, which is something Homeland hasn't been at all this season.
This season has been really good so far, great fast pace action packed intense TV.
Danes as always is brilliant and carries the show beyond what it really should be. The writing is brilliant and half the time I never expect what is happening would ever have happened.
Um, Rupert Friend's ass![]()
"Like you've never seen a dick before."
Oh my. This season is on fire. Meredith Steihm FTW.

someone i was watching with was complaining about dana, and made what i thought was a good point. he doesn't understand why they are force-feeding a teenage storyline to an adult, showtime audience
i think that may be the biggest problem with dana getting her own subplots. she should have about as much screentime as walter jr. on breaking bad. and last season, she really didn't get any scenes that didn't have one of her parents in them. is there any chance they will fix this next season as a result of the backlash?
I don't see what's so teenage about it other than the fact that it involves high schoolers. It's quite adult to me, and the fact that it involves a girl who's 15 or so makes it that much more compelling to me. This isn't some CW storyline we're talking about?
People are really trying to work this "Dana's storyline is useless and awful" argument basically everywhere I go, but every single comparison they make of it to another TV show's storyline rings so false to me. The storyline feels focused, thematically relevant, and interesting to me- far different than Kim Bauer's cougar or whatever other awful subplot 24 introduced later on in its lifespan. If people would just wait it out instead of complaining about it after every episode they might be surprised by how its resolution ties in with the grander ideas of the show.
