You insisting on labelling anyone a "bitch" when there clearly are other options is unsettling and unattractive.

I feel there are no other options that are more accurate. Why should I incorrectly describe something?

What's a scenario where you feel using the term "bitch" is appropriate, since you don't feel this is it? Don't tell me it never is appropriate. There is behavior that deserves to be called as such. I'm very disturbed by the defense of Aguilera's behavior and I'm getting very annoyed about being witchhunted here, when other posters in this thread used the exact same language.

There are a ton of ways to describe the unlikability of a woman without insisting on using one particular word.
Your insistence, not the word itself, is the issue.
That an intelligent man as yourself refuses to come up with other ways to describe someone is just really sad.
"But she IS a bitch!" is not exactly a clever comeback.

The way you use the word attacks her gender. THAT is the problem.

The way I use the word does not attack her gender. You are misreading. The word "bitch" describes a shrieky feminine quality, among other things, with the way I used it. It has no implication of me thinking she is lesser because she is female, which is what you are saying I have stated. That is wrong. That is not what I said and it's not what I think. Stop saying that is what I said.

This show is such a wonderful celebration of music and individual artistry/identity. Christina Aguilera being so selfish and wrong and, yes, bitchy all at the same time is reprehensible.

Well, then wouldn't that be the pot calling the kettle bitch, no?

Here's the skinny, Z; no one, least of all me, is asking people not have the right to protest a rule or a guideline but we are asking that those guidelines and rules still be followed.

    It's really that simple.

"Feminine" isn't a negative connotation, it's simply a description of the persona. I'm completely done talking about this, though, and I would really appreciate it if people would stop placing incorrect qualifiers on my statement. Hopefully we can focus on the music and everything else great about the show for the finale.

Saying that she exhibits characteristics consistent with negative gender stereotypes is attacking her gender. There are inescapable social and historic connotations associated with the way you are using the word.

    Also, I hate the show.
