Ok, this dress rehearsal sketch was kind of funny.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION - INOCA 2012
'The Avengers' sketch was brutal. Wow.
I didn't know Renner could sing like that, though. Despite the monologue being kind of a mess, he got to show that off.
Otherwise, not a great episode. And Maroon 5 is an abomination.
That Avengers sketch was painful to watch.

GATSBY VS. GATSBY
Praise the lord! Kenan might be finally leaving!
http://www.tvguide.com/News/NBC-Deve...n-1056584.aspxThe untitled multi-generational family comedy, which is in the script stage at NBC, would star Thompson as a man who moves in with his in-laws.
Kenan has been fairly boring and I think has been staying on the show because no other offers have really come up, as opposed to his other former and current co-stars like Will Forte, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg etc. have all done some interesting work outside of SNL during there tenure there.
Kenan doesn't really add much to the show anymore and I'm glad he's getting this opportunity. Now if we could only get Armisen off the show. Obviously Portlandia didn't do the trick.

GATSBY VS. GATSBY
My issue with Kenan is not that he's bad per se, but he's just "there" and adds very little to the show. There are times when he's in a shitload of things during the show (he appeared seven times on Anne Hathaway's show, for instance) but I have a hard time remembering him in more than one or two things without actually going back and check in which sketches he appeared. Plus he's been on the show for 9 years, it's time for him to move on IMO (ditto for Armisen and Seth Meyers -who's developing/writing a sitcom for next year as well, by the way-)
Kenan is miles better than Armisen at this point, though. He's also consistently funny with the roles he's been given - he was really the only funny thing about any of the (too many) Gilly sketches. Nine years is a long time, but Darrell Hammond was on SNL for, like, my entire lifetime. Maybe alarm bells should go off around year fourteen.
I liked "what's up with that" "deep house dish" and a lot of other things like sometimes he would do a French commentator on WU. He could steal a lot of sketches with looks or faces. I liked his prisoner lecturer with movie references.
I fucking loved Deep House Dish.
Man, why did they stop doing that? That was wonderful, they didn't drive it into the ground, and if you had a host with even minor musical talent, it'd work for all people.
OOHWEE T-SHANE.
