Well, its airplay is what's pushing it now. I kinda love that this single has essentially had three lives.

The most recent prediction has the reigning Idol with 150k opening week. Even two huge #1s won't guarantee a big opener...look at Katy Perry who couldn't crack 200k her first week.

Home is popular but all other signs show that Phillips just doesn't have the massive fanbase some previous Idols have had (the ratings were down, not a lot of online activity about him. They could just be chill people who buy the music without starting a lot of internet drama but I doubt it). Maybe they move on by the time the second album comes around, but a crazy invested Idol fanbase can get someone those huge first few weeks for the first album. McCreery's album opened with 197K last year and it doesn't surprise me that Phillips isn't expected to sell as well, even with a much bigger song. The 150K prediction honestly seems a bit high to me but maybe Home will be more of an album mover than I think it will be.

I think Phillips' album will be alright throughout the holidays. Whether or not he can find success with a second single remains an intriguing mystery, though.

Not much change to report near the top of the chart again, but it's worth noting that 'Diamonds' had already reached a higher peak than any post-'We Found Love' Rihanna single. We also get a random (and awesome) debut from The Weeknd:

    1. One More Night - Maroon 5
    2. Gangnam Style - Psy
    3. Some Nights - fun.
    4. Diamonds - Rihanna
    5. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Taylor Swift
    6. Die Young - Ke$ha
    7. Locked Out of Heaven - Bruno Mars
    8. As Long As You Love Me - Justin Bieber featuring Big Sean
    9. Too Close - Alex Clare
    10. Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) - Ne-Yo

    11. Don't Wake Me Up - Chris Brown
    12. I Cry - Flo Rida
    13. Home - Phillip Phillips
    14. Good Time - Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen
    15. Blow Me (One Last Kiss) - Pink
    16. Clique - Kanye West, Big Sean and Jay-Z
    17. Ho Hey - The Lumineers
    18. Adorn - MIguel
    19. Lights - Ellie Goulding
    20. Cruise - Florida Georgia Line

    21. Blown Away - Carrie Underwood
    22. Girl On Fire - Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj
    23. Wanted - Hunter Hayes
    25. Swimming Pools (Drank) - Kendrick Lamar
    47. Fastest Girl In Town - Miranda Lambert
    53. Better Dig Two - The Band Perry
    54. Beauty and a Beat - Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj
    59. I Knew You Were Trouble - Taylor Swift
    66. Thrift Shop - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz
    68. Begin Again - Taylor Swift
    69. Va Va Voom - Nicki Minaj
    70. Anything Could Happen - Ellie Goulding
    89. Red - Taylor Swift
    93. Try - Pink
    95. Don't Judge Me - Chris Brown
    96. Wicked Games - The Weeknd
    97. Don't Rush - Kelly Clarkson featuring Vince Gill

Psy will never get his day in the sun at #1 here, despite far outpacing Maroon 5 in sales.

I love it, but why is "Girl on Fire" rising?

The man who leaves and the man who comes back are not the same.

Home is creeping its way back into the top 10 for the third time. Crazy.

Well, you see, Kevin got dumped because he was too boring so he got a Discover card and went to her concert.

Haha. Close enough. I hate that damn commercial.

And I still can't decide if I like 'Girl On Fire.'

How are Maroon 5 on top when PSY beats them every week in sales?

Um, because that's largely what the chart is based on?
