ABC's Sundays are weak and getting weaker as time goes by. Maybe they could pair it with Once Upon a Time (where they are debuting the teaser for SHIELD this weekend)? Their Tuesday lineup is also pretty awful. I think those are ABC's only nights where they have enough room to launch SHIELD (and then presumably another new show in the timeslot immediately after to build on the buzz). Putting an older show behind this seems like a bit of a waste.

While that makes sense because Thursday at 8 has been such a black hole for ABC, why waste its audience by having it lead into Grey's Anatomy, a show that already does very well on its own (and with an audience that isn't really that similar to SHIELD's)?

This is a fall premiere, right? Well sunday you really want your hoped-for testosterone MVP to go a head to head with football?

I hope this show isn't just good, it finds a ratings holding. Because fair or not, I keep getting deja vu feelings of YOUNG INDIANA JONES.

ABC will air a sneak peek at the show this Sunday at 8:00 right before the Once Upon a Time finale.

    Also, cast photo:

I'm really, really curious to see how this does in the ratings. Marvel is clearly at a new peak of popularity, but that this show doesn't have any name superheroes in the cast and only has one strong link to the movie franchise makes me wonder how inspired people will be to stick around week-to-week. That said, with the right amount of hype and the right time-slot this could definitely be the first series to premiere to over 20 million viewers without lead-in help since Desperate Housewives nine years ago.

As an old Whedon fan it's pretty strange to realize that not only does he have one of the most anticipated shows coming out next fall but SMG, Boreanatz and Fillion will also be starring/co-starring in their primetime shows plus Hannigan has a supporting role in one of the biggest shows around. Not to mention the numerous vampire/supernatural shows on CW and the 'comeback' of westerners. It feels Joss was simply a decade ahead of him time on tv. It's still a bit of shame though how Emmys pretty much ignored him (he got a writing nom for Buffy's Hush) considering he did a lot of incredible stuff like Once More With Feeling. He does have an oscar nom for Toy Story though nobody ever mentions it. Maybe he could do a film for Pixar after he gets bored with all the Marvel stuff.

    Full trailer:

Looks all right. The bit where that one hacker character is interrupted in the middle of her manifesto made me laugh, in a good way. That struck me as a very Whedon moment.

The hacker girl reminds me of both Dushku and Glau physically.

I liked the trailer; hopefully the inevitable hugely popular pilot will lead to a season great in popularity and quality.

I imagine you looking at this thread and salivating with glee at the prospect of a trailer for a Joss Whedon show. As you vaguely pay attention to the trailer (something about Clark Gregg?), you think, "Ooh, this gives me a chance to emphasize how much my opinion on Joss Whedon differs from the internet's! I WILL BE THE KING OF NON-CONFORMISTS!" And so it goes.

Him calling his car Lola though is just a rip-off of Jayne naming (and being in a deep personal relationship with) his gun. As are SO MANY OTHER THINGS just in the trailer. Also, it looks fairly bland in terms of a rogues gallery, although this is just from a trailer. If this show is to be good, it had better include some of Marvel's weirdest supervillains. Are they going to arrest that superhero or make them join their team? Just what is the deal with what shield does and how it resolves things like with that superhero in the trailer?
