See, as big a Gaga-stan as I am, I don't even listen to most of The Fame.

The singles are all pretty strong (Love Game excepted: it's contribution to our lexicon is wonderful, the song itself...not so much), and Paparazzi is in fact great. But outside of those, I really only ever want to listen to Beautiful, Dirty, Rich, and Summerboy (which, humorously enough, is one of her most forgotten and least-loved by her fanbase, which is unfortunate, because it really is a perfect facsimile of the "summer jam" we all search for each year).

Starstruck, The Fame, Money Honey, I Like It Rough all are...no.

Oddly enough, I think the songs on the International versions and bonus tracks for different releases are better than a lot of The Fame's standard material. Disco Heaven and Vanity are way more fun than most of the rest of the album, and Again Again might be her best ballad to date, lol.

Oh, really? I like those a lot. Not that the singles themselves are not good but these equally good (or at least certainly not a 'no' for me.) Monster too! In fact I miss this kind of consistency from her second album (her attitude aside.)

Scream & Shout is #1 in 17 countries on iTunes including the US!!

The power of Godney is infinite.

I love the Britney Bitch sample. It's PERFECT. But the song still sucks.

I actually think one of BTW's greatest strengths is its consistency (I assume since you mentioned Monster separately that you're considering BTW as her second album). The only song on the standard edition that I think is less than "good" is Bad Kids. But MTN->BTW->GH->Judas->Americano->Hair->Scheisse->Bloody Mary...I think that's a pretty impressive streak of pop songs right there.

It's messier and a bit overlong if you listen to the deluxe, but the standard edition is a pretty well-oiled machine, IMO.

Everything Johnny Jewel has done this year has been flawless, and his output is substantial. Definitely 2012's musical MVP.

It won't be there for long. P2's Home is being sung on Glee tonight.

On Revenge Conrad said, "What both you and Victoria have yet to grasp is just how little she matters... to anyone." That, but for Glee.

As for Godney: Scream & Shout might be a "hit" the way Live While We're Young was a hit. It was the #1 digital song for a week...then never returned to the T10.
Or to a lesser extent, Brit's own Hold It Against Me which opened with over 400k but a year and a half later was only up to 1.5 million sold.

My favorite Gaga song has always been Wonderful. I remember being greatly annoyed when it didn't make the cut for her first album.

GQ's Least Influential People include Madonna and Gotye. I wholeheartedly embrace the latter being on the list, but he has a good shot at having both the year's #1 song and Record of the Year, so they're probably being biased.

Wow, that video is amazing. The song's also bloody good, certainly better than I would have expected from Bedingfield.

I know this is kinda old and most of you have probably seen it, but I was reminded how how wonderful this is today.

EDIT: I'm dumb and can't figure out how to embed the video on my iPad. Help would be much appreciated.

Fixed it for you. Embedding doesn't work with URLs from the mobile YouTube site (m.youtube.com).

I'm in a great mood cause... I met Katy Perry today!!! Billboard honored her as Woman of the Year and they had the ceremony at Capitale this afternoon. I told her that if Madonna didn't exist, then she would be the queen of the universe. And she said that she absolutely loves Madonna and that "if Madonna didn't exist, then none of us would exist." By 'none of us,' she meant women in music because the event was also a celebration of "Women in Music."

Edit: when I get a chance to plug my sd card into a computer, I'll post the photo in the photo thread.

I actually kind of... enjoy the new Ashlee Simpson track. It's not GREAT, by any means. But it has an interesting synth melody, and a nice melancholy to it. The lyrics are really what's holding it back, especially the chorus'.
