Ugh, they have to figure out something to do with Nashville.

It pleases me to see Suburgatory doing pretty well. It has developed into one of the most fun, nice half-hours on TV. Last night's was wonderful.

I guess I haven't realized that Big Bang Theory gets higher ratings than Modern Family. Is The Big Bang Theory the only non-sports show that gets higher than a 5.0?

Parks & Rec is even with last week, which I guess is as good as it can be at this point. 30 Rock was even, while Up All Night and The Office were down.

LOL at Glee. Chances of that show being renewed? Fox is not doing too well outside of animation shows, but even then. To the TV people on the board, how dramatic have drops in ratings been year to year? I've only been following them closely this season.

I thought 'The X Factor' might see a bit of an improvement with Taylor Swift performing. Guess not.

All of those ratings are pretty terrible. I don't know what NBC does at this point with Parks & Rec. With 30 Rock, The Office and (likely?) Up All Night gone next season, it should be interesting.

Idol (5.3 last season) vs. Big Bang vs. Walking Dead could be an interesting race.
Well X Factor did improve a bit. But no one likes hour-long episodes of TV when the meat of it can be condensed to a few seconds: X is eliminated, goodbye.
The Office ties a series low and is still kicking the asses of most of NBC's scripted shows.

"Chances of that show being renewed? Fox is not doing too well outside of animation shows, but even then. To the TV people on the board, how dramatic have drops in ratings been year to year?"
I would say chances are good. As of Sunday, season-to-date Glee was only behind New Girl and 2 cartoons of Fox's scripted shows. And on Tuesday New Girl got a 2.2. New Girl is down about 33%, Glee/X Factor 23% (per spottedratings).
In a case of the rich getting richer, Big Bang Theory is up. I think it's the only show that is aside from a few supernatural shows that (almost/) never even hit 2s.

One of the worst cases of being down (about 14%) is Suburgatory, considering its lead-in is WAY better than last season.

I'm interested about The X Factor's future. At this point, the show is just synonymous with a trainwreck. I can't really see anybody currently attached with it wanting to keep going.

    It can't be cheap, either.

666 Park Avenue and Last Resort have been cancelled by ABC. That makes three shows cancelled now from the 10pm timeslot since Brothers and Sisters finished.

And no surprise so was Partners on CBS. K&M are just not that successful aside from Will and Grace. CBS should cut ties with them.

Wow, not a great day for new shows. Unsurprising, but still.

I thought Last Resort had a fighting chance. The less said about Partners, the better.

Thursday finals: Damn Big Bang Theory went up ANOTHER two tenths. Highest-rated Thursday episode ever for the show, only behind 3 consecutive Monday episodes from early 2010. I think it's behind 3 or so Modern Family weeks, each from last season.
2.5 Men shed 1.6 ratings points from BBT. It's down 43% this season despite the huge lead-in.

People on the interwebs are rooting for Nashville to take 666's spot, and assuming okay-rated Rules of Engagement will take Partners'. Last Resort lost again to Vampire Diaries last night, but I don't think any show ABC puts there is gonna do well.

The Good Wife is close enough to 100 episodes that I imagine it gets a shortened fifth season. But yeah. I don't see CBS hanging onto it beyond that. The critical hit it's taken this season is likely devastating to the show's prospects, particularly when critics are being fairly kind to Elementary, which is much more in the CBS wheelhouse.

Well, 88 is the new 100, so they really don't even need a shortened 5th season.

But I don't think it's necessarily critics that might help to keep the show afloat so much as televised awards. Good Wife is constantly being called "broadcast's best drama" and snatches up more noms than the rest of broadcast's dramas combined. It gives CBS a certain prestige. And I don't anticipate awards bodies falling for Elementary.
It also helps that CBS Sundays at 9 & 10 are sacrificial lamb slots - the network would have to find other shows they don't mind seeing fail if they cancel Good Wife.
