How I Met Your Mother is down .4 for some reason - pre-emptions perhaps, but 2 Broke Girls wasn't hurt.

Voice is down to 4.5 in the prelim #s, but usually these singing shows go down when live rounds start. Last season's Super Bowl-inflated show was only at 4.1 for the first live performance show, then 3.2 for the first live elimination show. We'll see how this season holds up. Currently NBC stands as the #1 network for the first time since Friends ended...but the first quarter of 2013 is gonna be rocky, I suspect with weeks when they come in as the #4 network.

NBC has been pretty strong in live event coverage that all the networks do simultaneously, right? Recent examples being the election and debates.

Wednesday: Interesting. While The Voice beat X Factor, X Factor barely went down vs. last week while Voice went down almost a full point vs. last week's 2nd performance episode.

ABC all around went up about .2- The Middle just may be ABC's 2nd comedy hit. And Arrow rebounded well and it looks good to become one of The CW's 2 tentpole (i.e. only decently watched) shows.

I hope they don't cancel Emily Owens. Meryl Streep's spawn mesmerizes me.

Those X Factor ratings are A-W-F-U-L! I don't really get it. The show's not good so maybe there's that. lol

THURSDAY Voice directly against X Factor doesn't seem to be the best. Results shows generally are lower-rated, but Voice in prelim #s only got a 3 last night, vs. X Factor's 2.3. Which means that Glee grew out of its lead-in...only by .1, and it's doing only okay, but luckily Fox is fail this season so okay is the new good.

Miley Cyrus must still have a fanbase. Two and a Half Men has been in mid-3s (which is a bit low given its past and its Big Bang Theory lead-in) this season, except Miley's 2 episodes which have been 4-ish.

Those were the best ratings for The Office since March. I wish more people were watching. I think these are the most consistent string of episodes since Jim and Pam got married.

I feel like Nashville will get a back nine, but Last Resort is iffy. They have a bunch of dramas waiting in the wings.

Even though Grey's lost the total viewers against PoI, it was an increase from its previous ep and also had a good increase (well bounce back) in demos for it.

I'm guessing that it's dirt cheap and even with that poor rating, the profit margin is much greater than bombing with another expensive and ambitious drama.
You can do it, Naomi! You're...
ONLY 10 EASY STEPS AWAY FROM OSCAR!

1.) Bankrupt small, independent distributor via massive Oscar campaign. Failing that, proceed to...
2.) Cash in King Kong residual checks to pay for FYC advertisements from Kinko's.
3.) To avoid getting sent straight to VOD, attach entire film as a "trailer" to another film people actually want to see. And then...
4.) Try to do it Lahti-style and win Academy Award for Best Short Film.
5.) Avoid telling a story that everyone already knows by adding exciting details and/or gratuitous editing.
    6. Carefully and patiently weather the wrath of film critics/the royal family/the tabloids/Diana-maniacs for trying to add said details. (Good luck!)
    7. Find all of the boxes with "August: Osage County" screeners and slip in self-made cam bootleg from premiere screening at Lowes...the hardware store.
(Not Loews, the movie theater -- too expensive!)
    8. Trick octogenarian Oscar voters into thinking that you are, in fact, a real princess. (Hey, it worked on Eva Marie Saint!)
    9. On Oscar night, have camera crews come to Nicole's house, Joan Crawford-style, so you can win and keep your day job.
    10. OSCAR!

This is exactly true. Even with having a relatively successful fall, NBC has so many problem areas that it needs to essentially surrender in certain timeslots. This is one of them, and Rock Center costs basically nothing to produce.

How about just a revamped News show? A different focus, different style. Still cheap but maybe more successful. Not Primetime but Primetime: What would you do? Lol

I actually quite like Rock Center. I don't watch it often, but when I do, Brian Williams and his team do a nice job.
