I AOTY is a mystery. I was thinking:
    Florence + The Machine, Ceremonials
    Frank Ocean, Channel Orange
    Mumfords and Sons, Babel
    Drake, Take Care
    Black Keys, El Camino

But it doesnt seem right, Black Keys & Florence have no buzz left, they are pretty forgotten.

This is my exact line-up that I posted a few pages back. I'm looking out for P!nk or Carrie Underwood to possibly spoil Florence though.

Black Keys I'm predicting because it's very well reviewed, they are a proven Grammy quantity (they beat AOTY winners Arcade Fire in Alternative Album, making them kinda "due" for the AOTY nod) and they are more relevant than someone like say Lionel Richie.

Florence I'm putting in because there has to be a female artist represented, she has proven to be a star in the industry and the album is also well reviewed she can also fit into the "pop" slot kif not so squarely. That's why I'm looking at P!nk as an alternative (to represent pop) or Carrie (to represent country). Plus, they nominated 4 pop albums last year, so they may cool it down a bit this year considering the major pop artists didn't really make a big splash on the charts.

It's too bad it's not eligible, because Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City could have been a darkhorse to break into album of the year.

I will be very happy if Jessie Ware gets some recognition.

I could very easily see it's success boosting Kendrick into Best New Artist though, especially if Swimming Pools continues to build (broke into the top 20 on the Hot 100 last week).

Gonna do a final predictions thingy now I guess. Totally random. This year is bonkers. I'm not including any country, which is a problem, I realize. What is Miranda Lambert's newest material? LOL. And total underrepresentation of women here. Like, Carly Rae Jepsen should not be leading the female performers.

    ALBUM OF THE YEAR
    The Black Keys, El Camino
    Fiona Apple, The Idler Wheel
    Drake, Take Care
    Mumford & Sons, Babel
    Frank Ocean, channel ORANGE

Alternate: One Direction, Up All Night

    SONG OF THE YEAR
    "Call Me Maybe"
    "I Will Wait"
    "Little Talks"
    "Thinkin' Bout You"
    "We Are Young"

Alternate: "We Take Care of Our Own"

    RECORD OF THE YEAR
"Call Me Maybe" (Carly Rae Jepsen)
"Shake It Out" (Florence & the Machine)
"Somebody That I Used to Know" (Gotye)
    "Thinkin' Bout You" (Frank Ocean)
    "We Are Young" (fun.)

Alternate: "Little Talks" (Of Monsters and Men)

    NEW ARTIST
    Ellie Goulding
    Frank Ocean
    fun.
    Gotye
    One Direction

    Alternate: Of Monsters and Men

SUCH a weird year. A horrible year for pop music is going to result in some pretty strange, underwhelming nominations.

I was going to write out some last-minute predix, but they don't vary much from what most are saying. I'll predict Bieber in AOTY and Hunter Hayes/Of Monsters and Men in Best New Artist.

With such an awful field of pop songs to choose from, I wouldn't be surprised if something really bizarre happened in ROTY/SOTY. Like some song that everybody has heard but no one really ever considered a contender got into just be default.

Like Boyfriend or Niggas in Paris or some Bruce Springsteen song. Hopefully, it leads to some actually good songs getting nominated, perhaps some Ocean or Kendrick breaking out enough.

I'm down. We Take Care Of Our Own! I know dyedred's with me.

It'll be really cool when Frank Ocean is in contention to win everything though. Let's hope there aren't any veteran acts nominated in the major categories (sans Springsteen).

Now I realize it after looking at possible nominations by One Direction, CR Jespen, fun, Monsters and Men et al.
