I have to think they'll put a female artist in the BNA field, so I thInk I'll replace Carly Rae with another lady.

But what a hit it was. "Somebody That I Used To Know" is worthier than the whole of fun.'s output.

I don't much like the song at all? And I think fun. is extraordinary and way better. I'm always a fan of melody though and fun. has that in spades.

    How are you defining "melody"?

I don't really listen to their music, as I am more top 40 but I don't see Goyte making it for BNA. He's a shoo-in for ROTY, though.

    Ugh, fun. is so terrible.

I still love "Somebody That I Used To Know," unabashedly. It's still pretty remarkable that a a fairly unconventional song like that found so much success. I'd imagine it's the frontrunner for the win? The only thing going against it is the fatigue factor.

    Blasty is right.

Practically anything (Nicki MInaj demos, Roseanne singing the National Anthem, that sound an old modem makes when its trying to connect to the Internet...) >>>>> "Somebody That I Used to Know"

fun. isby far the better of the two and already proving that they are more than a one-hit wonder, unlike Gotye, who we will (thankfully) never hear from again.

This weekend...one last chance to save Halle's career from complete oblivion. Oh, wait...

I thought I read somewhere that Gotye is ineligible in BNA. I think because he previously released an album or an EP/LP or something

I know 100% that he's not eligible in SOTY.

The BNA thing wasn't confirmed. Either way, he is not happening. He will win ROTY, that's more than enough for him.

I agree on this. But Fun's WAY could win ROTY also. And maybe BNA

They have a good shot on BNA, but Frank Ocean seems like such a perfect fit for BNA. Also, his one of the few that received unanimous praise for his debut album.

I know! This year is so random.. we'll have to wait after the nominations are announced to really know who's ahead of the others.

I mean, who will get the most nominations (GF especially), will win BNA. At least that's what I always thought Look at Bon Iver!

I agree, I can agree with your theory. Also, Amy! And Adele

Ugh, whatever. "We Are Young" inspires me to commit random acts of violence each time I hear it. Awful, terrible, genocide inducing, etc.

The only genocide that had been induced is from Gotye killing billions of eardrums with his ridiculous shrieking.

Lol, Fun. vs. STIUTK is pointless. Fun. has two big hits, Goyte only has one and the bigger one for that matter. What follows
after is divided by personal taste.

This actually is the most random year for music I can think of. Nothing really stands out, except Call Me Maybe, LOL. And Frank Ocean, who will obviously(?) do well here.

At this point, considering how bad the pop side of music has been this year, I wouldn't count out Frank Ocean just winning AOTY simply because it's likely to be the only non god-awful album nominated. Unless Take Care is nominated, though I still think Channel Orange would take it. Like, when I think of 2012 in pop music... I don't think of anything.

Watch out for The Black Keys or Mumford and Sons to take AOTY.

STIUTK is up the Grammy's alley and will easily win ROTY.

Frank Ocean looks good for BNA but you can never truly tell who will ultimately win for this race until the envelope is opened unless the winner is super obvious (Amy, Alicia, Norah).
