I mean, not be that person, but I don't think you can reduce 21's success to calling it a "hit album."

That has nothing to do with my overall point.

But regardless of how enormously popular 21 became, Meteor is right. Adele was not a "prominent voice of the 2000's". In fact, she didn't really become insanely prominent until 2010.

I've been on something of a Radiohead binge these past few days, finally getting around to listening to Kid A and bits of Amnesiac. I keep going back to this song again and again. It's really beautiful, but also eerie in that trademark Radiohead style.

I'd say Adele is THE prominent voice of the 2010s.

But the argument I was trying to make was about her swing in popularity amongst the hip crowd.

Exactly. I actually like 21 a lot but it was late 2010 (or I'll say even early 2011) when all the rage started. Given that we are just starting this decade who knows would she be able to maintain this distinction or not.

Also, let us see how it holds on to the charts after that opening week. I bet not much different from someone who has a whole separate thread about themselves here.

    Yikes.

"Climax" is still one of the best songs of the year. It's a shame that he finally makes some interesting artistic choices and it bombs. "Scream" still sucks.

I'm excited about this. I thought about her the other day and how I want more new music.

    Anybody here listen to Tanlines?
