At least two or three critics/tweeters are complaining about movies doing one thing from start to finish, being singleminded. I find this curious.

I've been reading 'Amour' tweets for like 30 minutes and everyone seems to be moved and impressed, with some few exceptions, of course.

So, the reactions seem to be somewhat like this now:

Amour - Universal praise (with some naysayers)
De rouille et d'os - Passionate response yet somewhat divisive
Beyond the Hills - Passionate response yet somewhat divisive
Reality - Decent to positive response
Moonrise Kingdom - Decent to positive response
    Jagten - Decent response
Lawless - Mixed to decent response
After the Battle - Negative to mixed
Paradis: Amour - Negative to mixed

IAfter these past few days, I'm excited for everything that's been shown except for After the Battle and Paradis: Amour. Can't wait to see them all.

Now, a film cannot win 2 prizes, save for an acting prize and any other prizes (screenplay, direction, Grand Prix or Jury Prize) excluding the Palme d'or. There are, on paper 7 prizes for the official selection with the possibility of creating an 8th one, which will very likely be the case this year : Special Prize of the 65th Anniversary (Hello Alain Resnais again...LMAO).

It's emotional (people cried their eyes out, and yes, even I shed a tear at some point), it's disturbing, it's not very deep, and Mikkelson is wonderful. I didn't particularly liked the ending (I would have quit 10 minutes earlier, at a more ambiguous point), but otherwise excellent.

The press here seem certain that he'll win the Palm d'Or. Nobody seems to notice that Haneke has tilted everything. LMAO.

And yes - the Vinterberg sounds right up Oscar's alley.
