Oooh, I didn't know Louis-Do de Lencquesaing (who was in The Father of My Children, House of Tolerance and Elles, and who I find kind of hot in a DILF-y way) also directs. And Sadrine!
Beyond the Walls sounds good too. Okay, well, I don't know if it sounds good, but it's apparently a gay love story and the actors are really cute, and that's good enough for me, LOL. Who is this Guillaume Gouix?

If I am not mistaken, the Critics' Week selections all come from first-time directors.
Also, the official poster looks gorgeous!![]()

Very early Cannes winners predictions ...
Palme d'Or: Post Tenebras Lux
Grand Prix du Jury: Beyond the Hills
Jury Prize: After the Battle
Director: David Cronenberg & Leos Carax (tie)
Actor: Mads Mikkelsen, The Hunt
Actress: Marion Cotillard, Rust and Bone
Screenplay: In Another Country
Prize of the 65th Festival: Vous n'avez encore Rien vu
Has anyone read Gilles Jacob's memoir 'Citizen Cannes'? He mentions that Nanni Moretti bullied Isabelle Adjani about the prizes when she was jury president in '97 (perhaps explaining the split Palme D'or). Wonder if similar shit'll go down this year...
Directors' Fortnight selections have been announced as well:

Twitter rumors.
@cannesenlive Rumeurs Jury selon @snooptom @Festivalcannes @MarionFigaro : A. Payne, R. Peck, D. Kruger, E. Devos, JP Gaultier, Ryan Gosling #cannes2012
Can't you hang on the walls or roofs?
Please no Alexander Payne. Let's not ruin a good thing.
That was 1997, when "The Eel" and Kiarostami's "Taste of Cherry" tied for the Palme d'Or. Mike Leigh was also on the jury that year and has recently mentioned that Adjani was impossible as the president of the jury. I'm sure Leigh and Moretti were largely responsible for "A Taste of Cherry" ultimately sharing the top prize. Moretti is a huge Kiarostami fan, so his leadership this year should bode well for "Like Someone in Love" finding some kind of prize recognition.
I'm not sure why the Ruiz isn't in competition, but maybe it's like the Nobel Prize, and deceased filmmakers aren't eligible? Also, I believe he passed away before or in the middle of post production, so the film could be considered unfinished. In any event, really looking forward to it. Director's Fortnight looks quite strong on paper, with a number of directors who wouldn't be out of place in comp, like the aforementioned Ruiz, Michel Gondry, Pablo Larrain and Ben Wheatley. Also cool to see Room 237 there, which sounded like one of the most interesting films out of Sundance this year.
Best Actress winner Eva Mendes? :conflictofinterest:
Why, it wouldn't be Cannes without a few good old-fashioned conflicts of interest on the jury!
