I would see The Heiress, but I've only seen Nice Work, which I liked a lot, but didn't love. Spielberg_Fan is right, definitely same vein as Anything Goes, but I like Porter's musical better (although, I never saw it on Broadway). The Heiress is my number one must see for what's currently on Broadway (but I probably won't end up seeing it, as I am probably not going to NYC till March/April.

Oh, I can actually participate in this thread! I saw Once while I was in New York and it was fabulous.
    That is all.

Artimus sums up my persona thusly: You're so lovable but you scare me.

Oh yeah. I saw this a few months ago. Loooooved it.

So I just saw "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?" w Matt. It was intense. So.... I may... go for Nice Work just so I could have some of the "fluff" and fun one. Coz we saw "Glengarry Glen Ross" last night. So need fluff!

Too bad they're dark on Tue.

That's totally why I saw Nice Work. I needed something fun for my last day in NYC.

Ordered tickets for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in January. I missed Scarlett by two weeks last time. I won't missing her this time. Also excellent to have Hinds here as well.

I splurged and bought a full price ticket (very rare for me) to the first preview. It's in my calendar as "Scarlett Johansson."

Is Priscilla any good? The Italian production is coming to Rome soon after a very successful run in Milan.

I also got tickets for what looks like a fun production of My Fair Lady from the same director who did the great Italian production of La Cage, and tickets for the Italian production of Shrek. It's a fun show and I got a 50% off the best tickets in the house so it's okay even though the show is not amazing or anything.

Also, I'm going to see Gavin Creel in The Book of Mormon in London in April. I'm booking tickets for me and my brother tomorrow. We were planning a vacation and it looks like it will be planned around the show because I'm a huge fan of both the show and Creel. I was thinking April 2nd, and front row dress circle. Any Brits who have been to the Prince of Wales? Are those good seats? They certainly cost like good seats.

I normally wouldn't go to a first preview. I fully understand the "well if I'm paying full price, I can criticize it" mentality, but I tend to be more forgiving at the beginning. And that's where I stand with this production. It's definitely not there yet. BUT...I think in a few short weeks it will be there, very, very much so.

Walker and Monk are the closest of the main 4 to being there. Hinds goes in spats. Sometimes he's magnificent, and sometimes it doesn't seem like he knows what he's doing (or what accent he's doing).

I'm a big, big Scarlett Johansson fan, so I was anxious to see how she'd follow up her VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE performance. The first act, she's great (using a southern accent). The third act, it seems like she was doing her Brooklyn accent from VIEW! It was quite odd. But I'm sure that will be taken care of after a week or so of performances.

This was my first time seeing the play so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I am very anxious to revisit in a few weeks.

Divided Response so far for Scarlett Johansson

Theater review: ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’

Scarlett Johansson is a 'Cat'-astrophe; she plays Maggie with a 'Tin' ear on Broadway

Fortunately, Ms. Johansson, like Maggie, seems to possess a confidence that can turn raw nerves into raw power. Her sophomore Broadway performance isn’t as fully integrated as the one she gave in “Bridge”; there are a few miscalculations in her take on Maggie.

Is anyone planning to go see Jesse Eisenberg's 'The Revisionist' next month and March? He is the writing and acting.

I caught Chris Durang's Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike last night before it closes on Saturday. Very funny and well acted. Sigourney Weaver and cast in top comedic form in a play that offers substance as well as laughs. AD fans will love Kristine Neilsen, who plays the aging, old maid-ish sister, who attends a costume party as Maggie Smith in California Suite.

I haven't seen The Heiress yet, but I kind of want to see Picnic, mainly cause of the cast. It stars Ellen Burstyn, Maggie Grace, and Mare Winningham. Anyone remember Winningham? I'm sure some here are familiar with her, but she's seems to be kind of an obscure Oscar nominee. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Georgia in 1996.

If you're interested in seeing Oscar nominated or winning actors perform live onstage, then here's a handful of other New York shows this Spring that might be of interest:

    - Jessica Chastain and David Strathairn in The Heiress (close February 10)
    - Ellen Burstyn and Mare Winningham in Picnic (closes February 24)
    - Vanessa Redgrave and Jesse Eisenberg in The Revisionist (previews start February 6)
    - Ethan Hawke in Clive (opens February 7)
    - Carol Kane in The Lying Lesson (previews start February 13)
    - Keith Carradine in Hands on a Hardbody (previews start February 23)
    - Tom Hanks in Lucky Guy (previews start March 1)
    - Alec Baldwin in Orphans (previews start March 19)
    - Cicely Tyson and Cuba Gooding Jr in The Trip To Bountiful (previews start March 31)

    - Estelle Parsons is in talks to do a show called The Velocity of Autumn this spring, but I haven't heard any info about it.

A revival of "The Glass Menagerie" with Cherry Jones and Zachary Quinto is opening on Feb. 2 at the American Repetory Theater in Cambridge, Mass. The director and the creative team is the same as "Once". Please, please let this transfer to NY. I love this play and these actors.

I am going to see both in Mar and Feb respectively
