That was a great episode. I can't believe Shonda WENT THERE with taking the affair public!

I don't know how I'm going to last till September, I was barely making it week to week waiting for the new eps.

Shonda is amazing. There was a great profile of her in the New York Times last week where she talked about how she doesn't even bother taking notes from the network on her shows anymore and how she wants to develop an Alias-like show about a woman spy. I would watch that, no question.

Nice enough finale, but I was excited for the Final Five Unmissable Minutes You Have to See that ABC promised. Defiance was shut down again for now. Liv/Fitz break up again for now. I thought maybe David wanted to run on the ticket, but no. I thought someone would die, but no. Affair’s revealed some more. I guess the last few seconds of “Dad?” a la Alias, or Revenge last year, was the big dealio. The post-shooting episodes were way more exciting than the episodes since Fitz found out about Defiance. My favorite drama finale so far this season is The Vampire Diaries.

I suppose I'll be back only for Liv flashback episodes, plus midseason/actual season finales. Tis when the show's exciting(/ish). I'll get to miss out on the disturbing romances, so that's a plus.

I remember reading similar things in other articles. She was talking about how she realized last year that she had achieved such a success that one show failing wouldn't hurt her career and she decided to discard what ABC or fans wanted her to do with Scandal and just to write what the fuck she wanted. This show was 'for her'.

    Now, that's a season finale!

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but I looooved Cyrus for the first time ever. I can't decide what was his best scene: him at the ambulance, him telling Olivia about Verna or him trying to destroy the card.

The best I can say is that Scandal can deliver an awesome cliffhanger, completely out of the blue, and closure at the same time, leaving Defiance and the mole behind. Also very smart move to establish Jake as a serious love interest for Olivia (I'm hoping he is anyway). At the same time I feel the show has dealt with the fact that Olivia and Fitz is a broken relationship but kept their relationship within redeption if Fitz wins fairly the reelection. On the other hand the affair being out there means Olivia's plan won't happen.

I gasped with "Dad"! Alias feelings and I love it!

Can we all agree with this NPR article that Fitz is the worst, by the way? Scandal is a show filled top to bottom with basically despicable human beings, but Fitz might be the worst one, lol. Not from a writing/actor standpoint (I think Tony Goldwyn is great) but...yeah, he sucks.

I just want Olivia to rescue Scott Foley from the hole and have a sweeping romance for the ages.

LOL @ that article title. Shonda described him as being the damsel in distress of the show and he is sort of like a gender-flipped version of that. So pretty. So dumb. So useless (can Cocaine please be released in time to re-assasinate him for season 3? PLEASE?)

Ugh, doesn't Scott Foley have a new show or something? I hope it flops in time for Jake to return for season 4. And I know Jake is a creepster, but there's always a sweet component running through his scenes with Liv. Like, sure he broke into her apartment, but he saved her life! With Scandal that's the best deal you're going to get.

You can always count on Shonda to write the best season finales.

    Really good finale!

Fitz TOTALLY put it out there that Liv was the mistress. He was livid and butt hurt that he HAD to go crawl back to Mellie. Speaking of Mellie, I felt so, so so bad for her during Fitz' horrific diatribe about how he'll make Mellie into a racist. So despicable. It's about time we made him the bad guy.

    Will Oscar have Riva Fever?

Do you really thinks so? Now that I'm thinking about it too, it kinda makes sense. But I thought her dad was the one who put it out there and probably that's the general opinion too.

That's the expected path, but Shonda will always go for the twist. The twist would be Fitz doing it out of spite! I saw the finale as the Dad pulling up to rescue Liv from the hell she just walked into.

Life will be HELL for Liv for months as the media goes on and on and on. Mellie now has the platform to go after Liv and gain politically from it. Liv will become one of the most hated women in America. Season 3 is going to be so amazing.

I know!!! How are we supposed to survive this summer??

I think Papa Pope was coming to rescue Olivia too, but I can't figure what's his agenda. Anyone could have made the affair public, even Cyrus, who has know grown on me and seems genuinely interested in saving Olivia, maybe he thinks it is for the best in his own twisted way. It was probably someone who we think it's dead and whose name was completely forgotten by now.
