LOL In what "context" is Prometheus not a hit? Admit defeat.

    Um.

In the context of this thread. In which we were talking about artistic hits and misses, not about economic hits.

In the context that you apparently either didn't read the posts that came before it or just can't understand the meaning of the word context.

Oh. so by "hit" you meant "universally, critically acclaimed". So 'Prometheus' is not a hit since it only had 73% at RT and over 400 million worldwide box office (plus home rentals) on a $170 million budget.

Even you consider 73% at RT to not be a critical hit since you have to bring up again the Box Office despite knowing already that we're not talking about box office.

Funny how the trolls lose an argument because they posted some idiotic jab without thinking, then move the goals of the discussion ("context!", "critical acclaim!").

    The poll explained:

A troll desperate for attention, trying to help his fellow trolls, because they can't handle divergent opinions and all they can do to strike back is to snark and foam in the mouth.

    CAN
    YOU
    READ?

Seriously, it is a legit question considering the lack of comprehension exposed in your every post here. What's funny is that he's calling me a troll when I made it clear a few posts back that I LOVE RIDLEY AND WANT HIM TO WIN THE OSCAR...but good lord.

Prometheus was actually really good up until a weak-ish finale but still the overall product is a very well-made and interesting blockbuster.

I get the Prometheus hate, but I didn't think it was as awful as some make it seem.

The production design was fantastic and original. And,despite the screenplay crapping out and some of the ludicrous elements, it was juggling some pretty interesting ideas.

    I didn't love it. I didn't hate it.

I think a lot of people judge it in the context of Alien/Aliens, which isn't entirely fair. Certainly, it doesn't come even close to the best two (which are classics), but it's better than the worst two by a few hairs.

If someone forced me to pick a third film to watch again, I would choose Prometheus over Alien3 and Alien Resurrection any day.

Probably afraid of Leo. Wolf of Wall Street is targeting the same crowd. And competition for screens at the end of November is going to be fierce since cinemas & Lionsgate will want to give plenty of screens for Catching Fire in its first two weeks.

Sounds like they're going to concentrate their campaign on the eventual Best Supporting Actress winner.

How's that? I don't see how an October release means focusing on Diaz while Novemeber release means that the film's amazing and will campaign for everything.
