Updated with Looper, Hope Springs, Laurence Anyways, Caesar Must Die, The Day He Arrives, Declaration Of War, Farewell, My Queen, Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, Hors Satan, and Atmen (yes, I've been on a bit of a binge lately). Also upgraded Amour after a second viewing.
I was thinking of seeing Laurence Anyways - it seems big, beautiful and operatic, plus Dolan isn't acting in it - so hearing any good things about it would be really encouraging for me. Please and thank you.
I also downloaded Klip because of you. I hope I love it.
Also, if anyone's reading this and wants to see movie rates: I recently saw In Another Country and that's my #3 of the year now. Sang-soo the sage. It's super good, if incidental. Also saw Life Of Pi which makes the bottom half of my top ten - I was hoping it would have a strong point to make, but it does what it does delicately, like a Buddhist. But times today are not so passive, so in fact while I love the energy of the film, I wish it did more. (I also feel like Lee had trouble with his budget, so sometimes scenes will feel a little disjointed, from a technical perspective. And I didn't like the music that accompanied it, but all in all a solid feature. Kahn and Tabu are always great!)
That makes my top ten this: (The Master / Seven Psychopaths / In Another Country / Moonrise Kingdom / Lawless / Argo / Jeff, Who Lives At Home / Life Of Pi / Silver Linings Playbook / 21 Jump Street)
