I haven't! There's a lot of Lancaster I have yet to come around. Many who love him are disappointed too that he's dubbed into Italian in his two Visconti films (although I think there's English versions of both, but I don't know them, or maybe I saw the The Leopard one long ago, but I don't remember it), but dubbed and all, to me they're just such towering achievements!

I picked the top ten films for picture and five performances in the acting categories with honorable mentions to those that just missed my cut. As for directing, this is merely a list of the best directors, but not for any particular film. It is their collective work. With any of these directors, I think it is close to impossible to pick one particular film for them that is their magnum opus. In Original Song and Score, I picked ten for score, and seven for song. I only intended to have five in each category, but I absolutely couldn't cut it down any more. I don't feel knowledgable enough to list my picks for screenplay or any other categories for that matter. Finally, I tried to keep the list free from recent "passion" picks as best as I could, but some performances listed that are recent are still notable to rank among the best. Without further adieu:

As a fan of The Shining, I love these choices. I'm just curious though... was Shelley Duvall's performance in contention for your line up? Her performance in The Shining is one of my all time favorite female performances, and I remember Jack Nicholson once said that she probably had the most challenging role of any female that acted opposite him.

Anyway, I also almost included Piper Laurie's performance from Carrie on my ballot, but she barely missed out. I actually saw Carrie with a couple friends of mine a last week, and afterward one of them was being really annoying and kept saying, (as Piper Laurie) "The boys!!! The booooyyys!!" lol
