I love Steve Carell and I LOVED Capote and Moneyball (Both were my favorites of the Best Picture nominees both years.) So I'm truly excited for this, even though Tatum is someone I'm not a fan of at all.

I hope Oscars snub Arkin this year because that category does not need a filler nominee with so many better performances out there. Back to Carrel who I believe is a great actor who can do more then comedy and Miller is the perfect director to make him shine.

Dano was also better than Arkin.

Are you all really bitching about every single great actor but no Carrell who's not even good?

Okay. He was fine in Little Miss Sunshine and Crazy Stupid Love, but shut up!

Academy Award winning Steve Carrell? Really? Before Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt or Peter O'Toole wins their first? No fucking way!

If Steve Carrell will have an Oscar, then the next is going to be Paris Hilton, I guess.

I don't see why/how Steve Carrell could make the cut as a dramatic actor when Jim Carrey's attempts with tried and true material can't even make it in.

Well, both of Bennett Miller's films have had their lead actor and a supporting player nominated, so there's a strong track record there.

Isn't Jim Carrey unlikeable though? I don't think Carell is, but on the other hand he couldn't manage to win an emmy.

Carell isn't unlikeable, but his character Michael Scott was.

Disagree. I see where you're coming from, but I do think Carrell is going to make a big splash with this material.
