I love the experimental approach they're taking, and now I actually want to see this. That being said, I don't think the Academy will go for this outside the technical categories.

Here's the scans from Empire that show more of the set - curtesy of Jessboon at imdb.

Anna is typically seen as being between the ages of 28-32 (she married young, as was typical during that time) - and while Keira is only 26, she can easily pass for that age range. But her son Sergei is 8, and if Anna married around 16 or 17 years old, she could be as young as 26.

I think everyone in this cast is too young, but they actually made Jude Law look right, which is surprising. Aaron Johnson looks ridiculous.

I think she's perfect! She's literally grown up before our eyes. Plus this is a impressionistic take maybe wright saw Anna as this young frail girl and not this strong passionate woman in the novel. This looks interesting very interesting. I mean anything is better than the over dramatic Sophie marceu version. The only saving grace in that film was Mia kirschner and Alfred Molina!

Huh didn't realize Keira was 26, she still looks 19
I picture Anna as around 30 years old

Are they cutting the Levin plot out completely? I haven't seen any film adaptations but I guess that's par for the course

Wright's one of the most exciting directors working today and this is totally in his wheelhouse - should be brilliant.

"Impressionistic"? So basically, this is Marie-Antoinette 2.0?

I dont think too impressionistic. I mean it worked well for MA, but I dont think it would work for this type of film, I have no idea why, it just doesnt feel right, plus Wright is not Sofia.

Actually, I always pictured Anna to be in her mid-to-late thirties, which is why I've opposed to Knightley ever since I heard she was cast for the role.

She suffers from the Natalie Portman syndrome.

Eh, I dunno. Natalie Portman still seems like a little girl while Knightley is more of a woman.
