And it's fascinating (as well as frustrating!) to watch the contradictory and self-interested bureaucracies of the the police and judicial systems. The show certainly gives a very meticulous insider's look at all the proceedings and inner politics (and corruption). It's kind of disheartening to watch, though, and I'm only three episodes in, ha!

It's eye-opening and depressing.
Oh, you haven't seen anything yet. Just you wait.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. Especially Omar's little minstrel dance.

Watching "All Prologue" the same night as the Breaking Bad finale was...interesting.

Also, man. This show accumulates like no other I've seen. I really wish Larry Gilliard got more work.

I just finished Season 2. I have to admit that I am impressed. I'm not reading this thread for fear of spoilers though.

Just wait. You're about to begin the two best seasons of the show. Where it goes from a really, really good show to an all-time great and, imo, the best show ever made.

Not that bryan wants to raise expectations, of course.

I thought this thread was bumped because of the news that the actor playing Prop Joe died. He did fantastic in the role and he was the acting coach of the kids in season 4. The DVD commentary he did with the four kids was interesting.

Heh. The only reason I started this show was because IT IS THE GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!!!! I am enjoying it. The dialog is sharp, but not contrived. The characters and plots develop naturally. It is full of great, small moments. I like the way they pivot from one season to the next.

I don't really care for the Season 3 theme song remix though.

    "That was for Joe."

Anyways, "-30-" is amazing. Season 5 has its weak spots (that journalism plotline always feels too narrow), but it does a fantastic job of drawing the connections between all the story threads of the past five seasons (bringing the first "Way Down in the Hole" back for the final montage was a nice way of doing this) . The finale, especially, sort of makes the entire series even better by virtue of finding a resolution for all of the characters that feels true to what the show was, which is to say appropriately cynical but also beautifully humanistic in a lot of ways. I need to go watch Treme.

I'm three episodes away from starting Season 4. Sooo good. I think I would be Pryzbylewski if I were a cop. Pryzbylewski, you fuck up.

That is so true. You can't help but feel sorry for him. Can't but root for him.

Ugh, Season 3 was really really good TV. I could watch an entire series just on Hamsterdam and another on the trials and tribulations of B & B Enterprises. And Omar and Brother Mouzone in a classic western standoff. You could almost see the tumbleweed.

    I kind of hate you.

I haven't even managed to get started with Season 2.
